The New Twitter - With a Dash of Metro

Just before the New Twitter was announced I went through all the trouble of making a Metro version of the old Twitter. After this announcement I decided to put that project on hold, as it just seemed like a waste of time developing a theme for a website that was just about to be changed immensely.
Flash forward a couple of weeks; the New Twitter was pushed to my account and I was able to pick this project up once again. It’s a very personal mod of the default theme and layout, as I stripped away many things that others may like and/or find useful. I found them to be more annoying than anything so I made it my top priority to remove them before anything else was done. The new layout designed around the golden ratio just seemed far too cluttered and focused on the wrong things in my eyes as well. I made the timeline the focus of the page once again, while still leaving the new extended tweet popup available for use. I think that it is hands down the best feature the New Twitter has to offer, and it would have been a shame to remove it.

I’m curious to hear what everyone thinks of the New Twitter’s default layout. Do you like it? hate it? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think!
